The FCDO advises against travel to named areas of western and southern Tunisia — a national park, designated military zones and two border strips, listed below in its own words. It publishes no advisory against travel to the rest of the country, including Tunis, the coast and Djerba.

A formal state of emergency has been in place since 2015; security forces are visibly present, including at entry points to some towns and cities.

Demonstrations happen occasionally, usually in central Tunis and other major cities, and can start with little warning.

It is illegal to bring drones into Tunisia without authorisation, and some smart electronic devices may be restricted or held on arrival.
